Get outside this Earth Month
Earth Month is celebrated worldwide each April, culminating with Earth Day on 22 April.
It is a month of action and a reminder for everyone to reflect on the impact of human activity on the planet. It is a time to celebrate our beautiful planet and take action to preserve it. Last year we gathered the top ways to make every day ‘World Earth Day’, which you can view here. This year we’ve been concentrating on getting out into nature to appreciate the natural beauty of our locality.
Here are our top ways to connect with nature for Earth Month.
Go for a walk in nature
Find a local trail or park and go for a wander. Take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery, while also destressing and elevating your mood. We love Tully Park or Cabinteely Park.

Visit a national park
Wicklow is known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’, and it is right on our doorstep. Pack up the car for the day and visit some of our favourites spots, Glendalough, Greystones Beach, Powerscourt Waterfall or Lough Tay. Make sure to send us some photos of your favourite spot. We love Roundwood Stores as a delicious pitstop for lunch.

Plant a garden
Start a garden on your balcony. This is a great way to connect with the earth and to even produce your own food. We love Hopeless Botanics in Dublin City centre for their gorgeous selection of house plants and pots.
Have a picnic
Grab a blanket and some snacks and head to the park or local beach for a relaxing picnic. Take a trip to Dun Laoghaire pier and treat yourself to a classic Teddys 99 after winding down. If you’re looking for some beach inspo, read our recent Connect article – Dive right in.
Go birdwatching
Birdwatching is a fun and peaceful activity that can be done almost anywhere. Grab a pair of binoculars and a guidebook and start spotting some local bird species.

Remember, even small actions like taking a walk outside or picking up litter in your neighbourhood can have a positive impact on the environment. Let’s all do our part to protect and appreciate the beauty of our planet.
