Circular Fashion meets community kindness

Hali marked their first community event with a Circular Fashion Show to benefit their nominated charity, the Irish Cancer Society.

This event was made even more special as it benefited the Irish Cancer Society. The Irish Cancer Society are an amazing community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals and researchers. Together they are transforming the experiences and outcomes of people affected by cancer through advocacy, support services and research. Hali are proud to support the Irish Cancer Society as our nominated charity.

A conscious team

When Hali decided on the type of event, it was not only important to support a worthy charity, but to also send a message out to the Hali and local community about supporting a circular economy. Since opening our doors in July, the Hali Green team have been putting initiatives in place with the goal of becoming Dublin’s most conscious rental community.

Community spirit

The event was a massive success thanks to our community’s generous donations and purchases on the day. Hali are so thankful to all the residents who participated and supported us during the event, which was a full day affair with cat-walk fashion showcases which featured many of our amazing, supportive, and stylish residents. Residents also enjoyed delicious food, drinks, and energetic sounds from our, DJ Keith Hanna. The pop-up shop, which was hosted in our Social Space, was the very first of its kind for the Irish Cancer Society and Hali were delighted to kick this concept off for future Irish Cancer Society events.
We gathered an abundance of pre-loved clothing, homeware, and accessories to sell to benefit the charity. All items that were not sold on the day, were donated to Irish Cancer society charity shops nationally. Further to this, Hali raised over €3,000 in the one day which will now be put straight into helping the Irish Cancer Society’s vital care and support services and cancer research for cancer patients and their families across Ireland.

Overwhelming support

A massive thank you to Ciara Hughes, Claire Bowman and all of the Irish Cancer Society team for their support. A shout out also to the local businesses who kindly contributed their time and donations: Reuzi, Whelehans Wines, Tara Slevin Group, Tadhg Nathan, the Lighthouse Café, Paul Ciesielski and Adrianna Dryniewicz.
If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, the Irish Cancer Society can support you. Find out about support services and programmes offered by the Irish Cancer Society and affiliated cancer support centres and groups across the country at cancer.ie.
We look forward to sharing news on our next community event. Again, a massive thank you to you our residents for your overwhelming show of support and generosity.
