As seasons change
The transition from summer to autumn is a new beginning. It is marked by the new academic year, the end of a restful summer and is the jumping off point for the productive mode before the years end.
Autumn can be challenging for some bringing colder weather, more rain (especially for us in Ireland) and less light. How can we overcome challenges and preserve those good summer vibes while transitioning into the cosiness of autumn and winter? By fuelling ourselves with nourishing food, staying active and looking after our minds.
A balancing act
Often we put extra effort into ourselves with healthy food and excessive exercising before jetting off on our picturesque beach holidays, but the Hali Team believes that it is possible to enjoy a healthy body year round without needing to cut out all of our guilty pleasures. The key is balance and planning. Our hectic lives often make us eat at irregular intervals, we starve for hours and than we reward ourselves with large meals. This puts pressure on our digestive systems and can cause us to feel sluggish,
it shocks our body after hours in a static state. Eating little and often is the key to keeping our energy levels stable through the day. The beauty of a balanced diet is that we can still enjoy our favourite things in small doses. Depriving ourselves entirely will only lead to overindulging when we hit a moment of weakness. At the end of the day we all want to treat ourselves now and again!

Nourish yourself
It can be challenging to stay motivated and active as the weather grows colder. Staying warm and cosy on our couch under a blanket is so much more appealing! We need to value the importance of movement as it is a key component for longevity and vitality, and the beauty of it is the amazing range of exercise available.
You can enjoy yoga and fitness classes in the Wellness Suite – you can easily roll off that couch and give one of them a try! For something a little further afield,
try joining the Crew Class community which we discover on page 18. One member of the Hali Team recently discovered a love for ‘Reformer pilates’, browse online and in person classes at reformation.ie.
With so many indoor and exciting group options to choose from, mark this change of season as a chance to try something new and discover a love that will nourish you in the long run.
Make sure to share your discoveries with us on our social channels @livewithhali.

Invite the magic in..
Crystals are stones that have formed naturally in the earth over millions of years. They were historically used in rituals, and they’re still very much in use today. They are said to have energising and healing powers and can help sooth our minds in turbulent times. They are also a stunning decorative addition to our homes, so if they also have energetic benefits we say why not give them a try!
To help transition out of summer, try incorporating these crystals this autumn.
1. Carnelian is beneficial for inner-strength, resilience, enrichment of romantic relationships and empowers it energy (who doesn’t need a bit of that!)
2. Amethyst is a powerful stone promoting relaxation, spiritual healing and mental clarity. Try keeping one in your pocket to hold during moments of anxiety and stress (it is not always easy to get back into work after your relaxing summer holidays!).
3. Citrine, brings positive and prosperous energy. A great one for manifesting financial success, boosting creativity, self-confidence and joy (let’s keep the summer momentum going!).
Visit holisticme.ie to source crystals online or browse in person at our favourite Dublin city centre location, Dervish Holistic Centre.
